10 Alternative Must See Films Of 2013

9. Trance

url Danny Boyle is back (apparently he has been busy throwing some kind of party in London?) with surprisingly little fan-fare, or 'marketing budget€™ as it€™s more commonly known, with his first film since 2010's 127 Hours. Trance follows James McAvoys fine art auctioneer as he gets coerced into aiding Vincent Cassell and his gang into stealing a painting only for McAvoy to forget where he stashed it after getting attacked and hit on the head. This is an Oscar winning directors attempt at a heist film with some reality blurring hypnotism, courtesy of Rosario Dawson, thrown in by way of that good old fashioned memory recall device torture, in a twisting tale of theft, desire and Bradley Wiggins on a throne (probably). Danny Boyle has never made a film that was less than entertaining and has hit such cinematic heights as Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting so expectations will be high when it€™s released towards the end of March. Released the same week though and similar in many, many ways to the cerebral thrills of Trance is G.I. Joe: Retaliation€ starring The Rock and Bruce Willis, who will hopefully inject some charisma into a pretty charmless franchise - expect puns, clichés, ridiculous action and even more puns if this is more to your tastes.
