10 Awful 2019 Horror Movies To Avoid This Halloween

10. The Intruder

As woefully generic and forgettable as its title suggests, The Intruder is the latest low-budget home invasion monstrosity from Screen Gems - a subgenre they seem to have cornered the market on in recent years - starring Dennis Quaid as a psychopath who sells his home to a young couple (Meagan Good and Michael Ealy) only to have trouble letting go of it.

Without Quaid's hilariously over-the-top performance, the film would be completely worthless, but even then, this is a lazy bargain bin thriller with two "heroes" written dumb enough that you're likely to actively root for the villain.

Had the self-awareness been cranked up a few steps, this could've been a fun riff on a tired genre, but instead it's a glorified Netflix Original that somehow tripped and fell into cinemas.
