10 Awful Comic Book Movies That Must Never Be Made

10. House of M

1290250-nomoremutantscp_super Those three small words sum up a large reason of why I believe House of M would not be a suitable candidate for a film adaptation. The X-Men franchise is slowly growing and establishing itself, and the last thing that it needs is for a seemingly titanic shift in the status quo, that would only be defeated by a lack of effective depth and exploration. The concept would also be hard to enact with a true sense of sympathy, as the current run of X-Men films follow a small group of mutants, whether it be the original X-Men, or First Class. The tighter focus on characterisation would be lost amidst the overload of new and mostly inconsequential characters. Also, like many other entries on this list, due to its nature as an event comic, the cast of heroes would have to be reduced significantly, which is no easy task given the sheer amount of tie-ins and participants that this event involved. Every noteworthy superhero in the Marvel Universe, more or less. While this could be avoided by sticking to a core group of X-Men, the ending would also need to be changed, as well as Wolverine's discovery of his past. Put simply, there is simply too much to cover in House of M, and an attempt to do so would surely result in a half-baked bore of a movie, possibly akin to X-Men 3: The Last Stand. And I don't recall any of us being all too happy with that.
