http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UhCCHFZugE We all should have known that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's real-life romance was doomed given that critics lambasted their 2003 disaster Gigli as, above all else, demonstrating that the pair lack chemistry. Absolutely terrible though the film is on its own merits (or lack thereof), it was expected pre-release that the film might at least be able coast on the chemistry between its real-life stars, given how successful casting real romantic partners on screen has proven time and time again. Bizarrely, the result here is sterile and therefore pretty damn creepy. The two are just going through the motions, and if one watched it without awareness of the whole "Bennifer" debacle, it would almost be impossible to believe that they were actually dating in real life. Sure enough, the film was critically savaged, and perhaps drawing a magnifying glass over how poorly suited they are, the couple called it quits the next year.
