10 Beloved Christmas Movies With Worrying Morals

8. Jingle All The Way - Lie, Steal, And Blow Things Up To Get Your Kid That Toy

jinglesized Jingle All The Way sits in its own class of holiday movies, in that it seems to appeal largely to the real Christmas most American families relate to. It's not a magical fantasy, nor does it hearken back to the time-honored traditions of family and togetherness. It's not religious or spiritual in any way. No, this movie is all about the toy. That one toy that the kid wants more than anything in the whole wide world. This is the reason for the season to most parents. Well, to an extent. Sure, mom and dad may go out on Black Friday at midnight to fight off a mob of angry customers to get that laptop from Best Buy or something. However, most parents will not find themselves in the midst of an underground Santa Claus-themed crime syndicate, or become a hostage to a crazed Sinbad who unintentionally blows up the chief of police. Of course, everything works out in the end, as it always does. Everyone learns a valuable lesson about what really matters, and Sinbad gets hauled off to jail. Wait. Why does Sinbad get taken to jail, but Arnold doesn't? He punched a midget, assaulted a child, stole an insanely expensive jet pack and knocked a reindeer out cold! To be fair, I wouldn't want to be the cop who has to arrest Schwarzenegger either.
