2017 has been a pretty damn solid year for blockbusters so far, and while there have certainly been failures, disappointments and predictably forgettable outings, for the majority the year's most anticipated tentpoles have more often than not delivered on expectations.

To that end, there have been a ton of memorable action sequences, from epic, CGI-fueled big-scale battles, to intense, bloody shootouts, and just about everything in-between.

Though the summer is hardly done yet, and the likes of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Thor: Ragnarok, Justice League and Star Wars: The Last Jedi will surely give these movies a run for their money, it's still extremely likely that these 10 set-pieces will remain lodged in the brains of just about everyone who saw them.

Whether you're craving stylish excess, buckets of gore or more grounded thrills, these movies unquestionably have you covered...

10. Power Rangers - The Battle For Angel Grove

After taking way, way too long to suit up, the Rangers finally team up to battle the villainous Rita Repulsa, who has resurrected her old pal Goldar.

After first destroying a fleet of Putties on foot, the Rangers get into their Zords and attempt to protect Angel Grove from the monsters, all while Rita hilariously takes a snack break in an oddly plot-pivotal Krispy Kreme establishment.

The Rangers eventually realise their separate Zords are no match for Goldar, so form the very Optimus Prime-esque Megazord in order to defeat him. Oh, and Rita gets pimp-slapped into space, which is at least as awesome as it sounds.

This final battle was ridiculous, cheesy and basically everything that the finale to a Power Rangers movie needed to be. Bravo.
