Retired, Extremely Dangerous. In a year that saw The Expendables and RED both hit cinemas, the older generation took the drivers seat in action blockbusters like they hadnt done in years. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren what more could you want? (The answer is Mary-Louise Parker to add a little younger sex appeal, but it has that too.) What makes RED so brilliant is that its both hilarious and explosive. Its one of the few action-comedies that gets the balance just right, using its ageing cast to its advantage so well without sacrificing on the action. Its no surprise that it spawned a sequel, and though RED 2 wasnt quite as successful as the original, heres to hoping RED 3 will get a better reception.
Movie / TV enthusiast with a DVD and Blu-ray collection bigger than I'd care to admit. If anyone is offering creative / furniture solutions to house them, I'm all ears.
