10 Best Movies Of 2013 (So Far)

9. Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness If J.J. Abrams' sequel to his bold Star Trek reboot didn't quite blow us away, it's still a finely-tuned blockbuster with plenty to offer audiences. More action packed and fast-paced than the previous film, this one has Abrams in full-out action mode, delivering set-piece after set-piece and rarely stopping to slow down. Benedict Cumberbatch steals every scene he's in as a mysterious terrorist known only as John Harrison, and Zachary Quinto is again the best of show on the Enterprise side as Spock. As far as blockbusters go this year so far, it may not be up against much, but Abrams' well-crafted affair delivered more thrills, humour and intelligence than any other. Above all else, it makes it clear that the Star Wars franchise is going to be in good hands indeed. Read my full review here. Release Info: In cinemas now worldwide.
