The second instalment of the Guardians movie series may be less liked overall than its predecessor, but the opening scene was majestic.
We join the sequel with the Guardians in full swing, as they work together to take-out a giant octopus creature with more teeth than rocket has guns. Quill straps on his boots and flies around, attempting to blast the beast, Rocket shoots from afar, Gamora runs around shooting and stabbing, and Drax is attempting to kill the beast from the inside out. All while baby Groot is walking around, dancing to 'Mr. Blue Sky' by ELO.
The scene embodies everything we know and love about the Guardians of the Galaxy: they're pure fun in a messed-up universe and, no matter how sticky the situation, they always find the time for family quarrels.
