10 Best Scenes From 2018's Summer Blockbusters
9. Darth Maul Returns - Solo: A Star Wars Story
Solo wasn't anywhere near the best movies released this summer, but it's hard to argue with the crowd-pleasing appeal of Darth Maul's (Ray Park) surprise appearance at the very end of the film.
After Q'ira (Emilia Clarke) departs from Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewie (Joonas Suotamo), she takes Dryden Vos' (Paul Bettany) place in the Crimson Dawn organisation and holo-calls her new boss.
The hooded figure of course reveals himself to be Maul, complete with nifty new cybernetic legs, who orders Qi'ra to come meet him on his home planet of Dathomir where they'll be working closely together.
Granted, for those who haven't paid attention to the wider Star Wars universe, Maul being alive was probably a bit confusing, but it was certainly a cool moment for fans to see the wider chronology unambiguously tied into the movies.
It's just a damn shame that Solo bombed, basically ensuring this enticing plot thread will never be followed up on.
