10 Best Star Wars Cosplay Characters Ever

The Force is strong with these ones. And also seriously creative, on occasion.

Pretty much the only western cosplay tradition that can compete on a level with the superhero is that based upon George Lucas' little sextet of low key, personal films, the gentle story of a boy's coming of age and self-discovery: a tale of tragedy and really big helmets in a time of unrest and political upheaval. It's basically Gone With The Wind with lasers. The conventions that used to play host to a few determined cosplayers have multiplied like drunken rabbits, and these days every town, village, hamlet and housing estate seems to play host to an annual event celebrating geek culture in all its nerdy glory. Cosplay has moved a little out of the niche that it's sat in for so long, becoming just a tad more mainstream - it's not just teenagers in homemade costumes reciting lines of dialogue over warm cans of lager anymore. Star Wars cosplayers now incorporate some of the most up-to-date make-up and prosthetics, when needed, in order to raise their game to the level of the films that inspire them. Coming up is a selection of ten of the most popular characters or types in the Star Wars milieu that fans have chosen to cosplay, and some of the best images of the many and varied interpretations of those characters...
