10 Best Trailers Of 2013

9. About Time

Though some have complained that this film €“ the latest offering from Richard Curtis €“ is as limp-wristed as a paralytic Mr Tickle, the trailer got it spot on, arousing equal levels of curiosity and romanticism in even the most stone-hearted of cinema-goers. Why It Works: Half heart-warming drama, half witty romantic comedy, the About Time trailer plays to Curtis€™ strengths €“ namely, being hopelessly and brilliantly smitten with relationships. In a whirlwind celebration of life and love in which a father informs his young son that he has the ability to time-travel, the trailer reels along at a much needed pace, keeping the smiles coming and the joy level high. Yes, it may seem twee, and is exculsively populated by the muddled middle-class, but if you can see past these elements the trailer promises you enough laughter and lightness to make the inevitable tears seem worthwhile.
