9. M. Night Shyamalan Reteaming With Bruce Willis

You'd think that with his plummeting popularity with both critics and audiences that M. Night Shyamalan would have run to the hills with his tail between his legs by now, but you've got to hand it to the guy: he doesn't give up easily. Despite making a few box office bombs (like The Last Airbender and After Earth, to name a few), the director is moving forward with another film, which will reunite him with Bruce Willis. Labor Of Love is a script that Shyamalan wrote way back in 1993 but never saw the light of day, partly because he didn't want anyone directing it but himself. The script is refreshingly not a genre movie, which Shyamalan has been trying and failing at making for the last fifteen years. Instead, Labor of Love lends itself to a more straight-forward, realistic approach, which might be the return-to-form Shyamalan needs. Deadline initially reported the story, and summarizes his script as follows:
In Labor Of Love, Willis will play a Philadelphia book store owner who loses the love of his life in a tragic accident. Never big on words, he becomes haunted by the notion that he never properly told his wife how much he loved her. Since she once asked if he would walk across the country for her, he decides to show her posthumously just how much he did love her. That trek starts from Philadelphia to Pacifica, CA, which was her favorite place.
This will not only be a good return-to-form for Shyamalan, but for Willis as well, who's been growing increasingly tired of doing action movies (which is apparent by his obvious disinterest on-screen, though he definitely enjoys the paychecks). Maybe the two of them can, together, make a comeback and show the world that they still have valuable stories to tell? As of right now the actor is only in talks with the director, and the film has yet to go into production, so we'll just have to wait and see.
