10 Biggest Movie Pricks Of 2013

8. Kruger - Elysium

elysium sharlto copley It's a tough one to choose between Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and the mercenary Kruger (Sharlto Copley) for the biggest prick in Neil Blomkamp's Elysium, but for sheer brutality, I'll go with Kruger. The first time we see Kruger, he is ordered by Delacourt to shoot down a shuttle full of refugees heading to Elysium, and is later tasked with recovering the computer program that Max (Matt Damon) desperately needs to get to Elysium. Though Max and Kruger eventually make a bargain, Kruger suffers significantly when his face is blown to pieces by an errant grenade, and Elysian technology has to be used to rebuild his face, causing him to become even more mentally unstable. Though I sympathise with the guy somewhat for literally losing face, he then ends up murdering his boss, and hunts down Max under the misguided assertion that, if he recovers the program, he can actually control Elysium himself. After a brutal fight, the incensed Kruger is thrown to his death, putting to rest one of the most intense and intimidating movie pricks of the year.
