10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (April 26)

Jason comes to TV!

Hollywood was buzzing with excitement over the last seven days, filling the internet with new pieces of movie and TV news to obsess about. Things trickled in slowly for the first few days, then came in waves on Thursday and Friday, which should give us plenty to talk about in this latest edition of the WhatCulture news brief! As per usual, we have a round-up of the biggest casting news, production updates, rumors, and blockbuster-sized details to share. We heard about a certain beloved biblical epic from 1959 that's getting a reboot, found out that Sony may still be interested in a Bioshock movie, and that Quentin Tarantino may not have given up on The Hateful Eight after all. On top of that, we have some exciting Batman Vs. Superman casting, an update on the third Hobbit movie (don't worry, it's not getting split into two parts!), and word that Jason Vorhees will be haunting our television sets week after week. But, before we jump into the deep end of the movie news pool, let's take a look at some smaller stories that caught our attention:

Honourable Mentions

Meg Ryan Will Narrate How I Met Your Dad She'll be playing the future version of Greta Gerwig, similarly to how Bob Saget voiced the grown up Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother. Could this be Ryan's big comeback? Jane Got A Gun Lands February 2015 Release Date Sure, I'll believe it when I see it. After so many director and actor changes, how is this movie even still happening? It better be worth it... Mark Millar's Comic MPH Gets A Movie Deal That's just one of about a dozen Millar works headed to the big screen, including Superior, The Secret Service, Nemesis, Kindergarten Heroes, and Starlight. It's A Small World, Barbie, and Peeps Are Getting Movies Read that sentence again. Then mourn the loss of original (or at the very least, interesting) ideas in Hollywood. Jessica Chastain Wanted For Mission: Impossible 5? Faith in Hollywood restored! Check please!
