10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (Feb 15)

Lots of big news to dissect this week...

Gordonbullock What a week, huh? After weeks of relatively slow movie news, things picked up steadily this week as we were treated to casting announcements, new release dates, and some fun surprises along the way. Sure, there were no big tentpole casting announcements, like in the last few weeks, but we do have a lot of good news for you this time around including new faces for Fox's Gotham TV show, someone to lead the way for CBS' How I Met Your Mother spinoff, and news about upcoming Tarzan and Jungle Book films. The week got off to a sad start when we learned that beloved Hollywood icon and former child star Shirley Temple has passed away, leaving behind one of the most unique legacies in Hollywood history. But before we get there, let's take a look at some of the other announcements that filled our RSS feeds over the last seven days...

Honourable Mentions

House of Cards Season 2 Is Now On Netflix I'm sure most of you are either a) already through the series by now or b) taking a break from binge-watching. It's just a shame that we'll now have to wait another year for the already-confirmed third season. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen Reteaming With 50/50 Director We know nothing about the movie other than that it's a Christmas comedy. But considering how good 50/50 was, and how great JGL and Rogen were in it, this is good news. Terry Gilliam Is Finally Going To Make The Man Who Killed Don Quixote How's the saying go? I'll believe it when I see it? The First Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer Lands Next Week February 18, to be exact. Expect the marketing for the film to go through the roof once the trailer hits, because Marvel and Disney need to promote the hell out of this thing so people will go see a movie about a gun-wielding racoon and walking tree man. Adult Swim Renews Rick And Morty For Season 2 Awesome! Rick and Morty, from Community creator Dan Harmon, is easily the funniest, most twisted animated show in years. It's nice to see that at least one of his shows won't have to fight to survive another year. Larry The Cable Guy Starring In Direct-To-DVD Jingle All The Way Sequel I think a part of my childhood just died. At least it's straight-to-video, meaning this movie is destined to die inside of a lonely, cold Redbox The LEGO Movie Blooper Reel Turns out everything about The LEGO Movie really is awesome, including the outtakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTP9U0oDDKg#t=0 And now, onto the main event!
