10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (March 1)

1. Harold Ramis Has Passed Away

Harold Ramis The news got off to a rocky start this week when news broke that writer, director, and actor Harold Ramis had passed away after a long battle with autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. Ramis was 69 years old. He's perhaps most recognizable for his role of Egon in the Ghostbusters films, but was incredibly prolific behind the camera as well, writing and directing some of the greatest comedies of all time. He's responsible for films like Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, Animal House, and Caddyshack, and his impact on comedy can be felt across the medium even to this day. Our hearts and condolences go out to his family, friends, and countless fans who have been affected by his passing. He will absolutely, truly be missed. That concludes this week's news brief. Tell us, dear readers, what did you think of this week's updates? Are you excited about more Indiana Jones films, Bond 24, and Dredd 2? Who do you think Patrick Wilson is playing in Ant-Man? Do you think Adam Driver has what it takes to fill Vader's shoes? And, most importantly, what's your favorite Harold Ramis film/performance? I'll admit, I'll always have a place in my heart for Egon Spengler.
