10 Bonkers Theories About 2015’s Movies That Surely Can’t Be True

It was Ant-Man all along.

Hero kicks villain down a very long hole, learns an important lesson, gets the girl, the credits roll; that's how a movie's supposed to end. Except that's not how audience's minds work. Fans love to dissect their favourite movies, and once you get past the choreography of the big action scene and in-depth analysis of a characters moments, things tend to take a turn into the ridiculous, going from assessing the movie itself to drawing bizarre ideas out about the universe it presents. Some of these can be really good (props to whoever figured out that Andy's Mom is Emily in Toy Story 2), but most are bonkers notions that require pretty big logic leaps. And then there's those that exist purely to explain away key weaknesses in a film's production, an ultimate case of fanboying that serves to only blind people to a movie's flaws. The internet loves fan theories, of course, and some of the ones that have popped up about 2015 movies have really took hold, despite clearly being too ridiculous to be taken seriously. With the benefit of a bit of hindsight (and in some cases clear word from the director themselves refuting it), let's take a look at ten of the biggest, most bonkers ones.
