It was recently revealed that Emily Blunt met with Marvel Studios executives while working on Disney's The Jungle Cruise and while there's no word on who the actress might be playing, this wouldn't be the first time she's come close to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Blunt previously missed out on the chance to play both Black Widow and Peggy Carter, while she was also considered for Iron Man 3's lead villain before Marvel Entertainment CEO Isaac Perlmutter decided that moviegoers wouldn't pay to see such a thing. Needless to say, that's nonsense, and it's about damn time the Mary Poppins Returns star join a major comic book franchise.

The question is, which character is she being considered for this time? Well, there are a number of very likely possibilities and based on the projects Marvel Studios has in the works and some recent rumours, we've now rounded up the top contenders.

Blunt is an excellent actress and there's a lot she could bring to any number of franchises both on the big screen and the small one now that the MCU is expanding on Disney+...

10. Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk

Look at any She-Hulk fan-cast online and you'll more than likely see someone like Ronda Rousey or a female bodybuilder put forward as a perfect candidate to take on the role. Well, they're missing the point big time because just like Bruce Banner, Jennifer Walters is very much a normal human woman before she transforms into her powerful alter-ego.

In the upcoming Disney+ series, CGI will no doubt be used to transform the actress playing Bruce's cousin (who's also a hotshot lawyer) into the hero and Blunt would be a great choice to bring that human side of the character to life on the small screen.

Over the years, we've seen her play both quiet, reserved characters (The Adjustment Bureau) and those who are considerably more confident (The Devil Wears Prada) so Blunt has all the right qualities to bring both sides of She-Hulk to life. That's essential when the hero actually retains her intelligence upon transforming and comes out of her shell.
