After much speculation and rumour, it has recently been revealed that John Krasinski has (virtually) met with Marvel Studios.

The actor/director, best known for his role as Jim Halpert in the American version of The Office, has recently made a name for himself as a bit of an action star. He has appeared in the title role in the action heavy Amazon series Jack Ryan, as well as writing, directing, and acting in the beloved horror film A Quiet Place, and it's upcoming sequel, A Quiet Place Part II.

As such, fans have wanted Krasinski to team up with the ever expanding Marvel Studios for an upcoming project for some time. Hearing that this collaboration may finally be happening is exactly the kind of exciting news we all need right now.

Krasinski's working with Marvel raises a few questions, most importantly, in what role. Fans have speculated and fan casted him as many different Marvel characters, but ultimately, no one's opinion on the subject matters except for Krasinski himself and Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige. The actor would be a good fit for plenty of characters from the comics.

Here are 10 Characters John Krasinski Could Play in the MCU.

10. Doctor Octopus

John Krasinski Mister Fantastic
Marvel Comics

Once Marvel gained the rights to include Spider-Man in the MCU, it seemed almost inevitable that we'd see another version of Otto Octavius, aka Doctor Octopus, aka Doc Ock.

The classic Spidey villain would feel right at home in the MCU. He's the perfect hybrid of goofy and menacing, with his mechanical arms both silly and threatening to our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Though the next MCU Spider-Man villain will most likely be Kraven the Hunter, introducing Doc Ock somewhere along the line is still a possibility, and Krasinski could bring some serious depth to the character.

He has the right physicality for the role, and slapping on the pair of Dwight Glasses and haircut he wore in the Office episode Product Recall would even make him look the part. Alfred Molina, who played the role in Spider-Man 2, will be a tough act to follow, but if anyone can do it, it's Krasinski.
