10. New Star Wars Movies

Disney didn't buy Lucasfilm for the sake of it, but the fact that the press release (which came out of nowhere) announcing the purchase mentioned plans for a seventh film set for release in 2015 was still massively shocking to fans of the Star Wars franchise. These days, a reboot or something similar would have been expected, but continuing the series with a new trilogy was a momentous and mind-blowing reveal which which stunned everyone. Of course, Disney hasn't stopped there, and at least two spinoffs are currently in the works with Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) attached to the first and Josh Trank (Fantastic Four) set to helm the second. What those will focus on remains to be seen, but they mean that Disney and Star Wars will dominate the December box office for at least the next five years. And maybe longer - will another trilogy follow once this one concludes?
