10 DC Movie Deleted Scenes You Need To See

8. The Dark Knight Rises: The Death Of Foley

Batman Forever
Warner Bros

Few things irk movie fans more than an off-screen death, and that's all Matthew Modine's Deputy Police Commissioner Peter Foley was deemed worthy of in the final cut of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

Sure, the Gotham lawman had his flaws, retreating from his duties to be with his family when Bane took control of the city, but in fairness to him, he stepped up once again after that burning Bat Signal appeared on the bridge.

He deserved a better sendoff, but only got one in the Blu-ray extras section, which includes a rough cut of a scene where he's taken out by one of Bane's tumblers.

It looks like Foley goes down fighting too because the footage appears to show him pushing one of his comrades out of the speeding vehicle's path before opening fire on it, and ultimately bouncing off its hood.

This is a scene that should have been polished up for the final cut, if only to dispel the mystery surrounding the character's fate and complete his arc.
