9. Parallax Has Wiped Out The Green Lantern Corps
Green Lantern's omission from the Justice League is conspicuous since he's a founder member, and the plot thickened in the Justice League trailer when Steppenwolf noted there are "no Lanterns" to protect Earth from his invading forces.
So where are the Lanterns? Are they merely too embarrassed to show their faces after the awful 2011 Ryan Reynolds movie, or is there a deeper reason behind their absence? This internet theory claims to have the answer.
Numerous DC fans believe the Green Lantern Corps are AWOL because the evil Parallax has already possessed Hal Jordan and wiped them out. This is a trick DC pulled during the 1990s in response to declining comic sales, though it wasn't an overly popular one as far as the fans were concerned.
While this would explain the lack of Lanterns in the world of Justice League, it seems unlikely the DC Extended Universe will introduce such an iconic character as a villain.
Having said that, everyone is expecting Green Lantern to show up at some point in Justice League's big twist, but nobody would see Parallax coming.
