10 DCEU Mysteries That Are Yet To Be Solved

These would test even Batman's detective skills...

Many things about the DC Extended Universe are shrouded in uncertainty, both on and off the set.

Fresh rumours linking Ben Affleck with the Batcave exit seem to emerge every week, and the long-term future of the shared cinematic world itself is now in doubt after Warner Bros announced plans to pursue standalone superhero films.

As much as the fans would like to know what the hell is going on behind the scenes, there are plenty of unsolved mysteries still at large in the DCEU movies themselves, and these are more fun to explore, debate and wax lyrical about.

A shared universe to compete with Marvel's MCU was always the plan when Warner rebooted Superman with 2013's Man of Steel, and every movie that exists in this world has delivered in Easter eggs and connective tissue for follow-up films to draw on.

This has given the fans plenty to chew on and helped them form some interesting theories about where the DCEU is heading, but even a detective of Batman's calibre would struggle to get to the bottom of the superhero universe's deepest mysteries...

10. How Does Superman Return From The Dead?

Unless you've been living under a rock on the planet Krypton, you'll be aware that the upcoming Justice League movie has a little Superman problem to resolve, namely how to bring The Man of Steel Back from the dead.

The Man of Tomorrow fell in battle at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but his involvement in Zack Snyder's team-up movie is common knowledge, which begs the question of how he is going to be resurrected.

Did Doomsday merely put Supes into some kind of Kryptonian coma during their battle, a deep sleep that enables him to recover from wounds which would have killed anyone else? If that's the case, they're going to feel awfully foolish for burying him.

Another possibility is that a third party will be involved in Superman's resurrection, potentially the villainous Steppenwolf, which ties in neatly with those rumours about the Man of Steel returning from the grave on the evil side.

The Apokoliptian probably has the means to bring a Kryptonian back from the dead - he's practically a god, after all - but exactly how he will do it remains to be seen.
