10 Despicable Movie Villains From The Last Decade We All Loved To Hate

Get ready to boo and hiss your way through this one... but love it at the same time.

The screen villain is as integral to film as self-serving interests are to politicians or phone hacking skills are to sleazy reporters. Unlike those villainous chumps though the screen villain actually enhances our lives by increasing our viewing pleasure. During the last decade we've seen some of cinemas greatest ever bad guys. We've had the Joker terrorizing Gotham, Loki invading New York and Raoul Silva flirting with James Bond to name but a few. The most popular villains all possess that intangible quality known as 'cool' or have a certain charm about them that makes them inherently likeable no matter what they do. There is another breed of screen villain though. The truly despicable, unlikeable ones who spend their off-screen time twirling their Dick Dastardly moustaches and practicing their best evil-doer laugh (probably). These are the villains we can't wait to see get their comeuppance. Get ready to boo and hiss your way through a look at 10 screen villains of the last decade we all loved to hate with a passion...

10. President Snow €“ The Hunger Games (2012-2015)

''Her entire species must be eradicated.''
Played By: Donald Sutherland The Villain: President Coriolanus Snow is the autocratic ruler of the dystopian nation of Panem who presides over The Hunger Games. The games are a political instrument of control wrapped up as entertainment which force children from each of the twelve districts that make up Panem to fight to the death until only one survives. His casual demeanour masks a vicious and sadistic nature that makes Pol Pot look like Paul Potts. Most Despicable Moment: After a lifetime of using state sponsored murder, President Snow has no compunction in ordering the deaths of anyone who stands against him. When Katniss rebels against his orders in Catching Fire, which he thinks will fan the flames of rebellion, he orders District 12 wiped off the face of the planet. Thousands of men, woman and children are killed. We can only hope if or when he meets his maker in the sequels to come, he dies via a very sharp instrument shoved where the sun doesn't shine.
