10 Directors Who Should Have Their Filmmaking Rights Revoked

Ridley-Scott Hollywood is an odd place. When it is void of any creativity, idiots get to run the show to achieve the one thing it's built to do; make money. It may be a cynical view, but Hollywood can be a much diluted, talentless pool at times and striking off the first 3 people from this list would be a good start to rebuilding its greatness. The remaining 7 just need to take a step back and consider whether or not they are just film making off the back of former glory, when in reality, all 7 at one time or another were responsible for the very best that Western Cinema has to offer. A warning now, this list is odd. Putting people like McG in the same group as someone like Francis Ford Coppola seems very dirty and wrong but it remains that, albeit for different reasons, both need to stop making movies. For better or worse here are 10 Directors Who Should Have Their Film-Making Rights Revoked, and sorry in advance, there is no Michael Bay, we have the pretenders and the old school to clean up before him...

10. Paul WS Anderson

paul-ws-anderson-680x450 Amongst legends that only have ol' father time to blame for their recent downfall, come the aforementioned 3 men whose opportunity and place in Hollywood defies belief and sense. The first is not to be confused with the stylistically individual Wes Anderson or the 'new Scorsese' PT Anderson, no, Paul WS Anderson has been making tat for about 3 decades now. Event Horizon being his only stand out, P WS Anderson is mostly known for his role in milking two of the greatest Sci-Fi franchises to their complete and utter dried out death with Alien Vs Predator (like either of them needed anymore milking) and creating his own back catalogue of trashy, loosely based, video game adaptations of the much loved and adored Resident Evil series. In between Resident Evil, he has also destroyed a beloved story (that has been recreated better countless times before) with his 2011 punt at The Three Musketeers and directed 'The Stath' in 2008's pointless remake of Death Race, which in fairness isn't terrible. But still, why anyone is looking forward to his latest effort -Pompeii - is totally beyond comprehension. In a pub somewhere in the world right now, someone is confusing this man for either Wes Anderson or PT Anderson - this crime alone surely begs him to never make a film again. Best Film: Event Horizon (1997) Most Recent Travesty: Everything since
