It seems that you can spend only so long travelling around space and time in a big blue box before it has to come to a sudden end. This might be by being sucked away into parallel Earth, being killed before you were even born, having all your memories cleared or even being turned into a Cyberman. So what to do next? Well, you could also try your hand in another billion-dollar franchise.

There are so many to pick from being in but it seems a lot of former Doctor Who stars end up in a TV show or Film that is linked with the Marvel brand. From David Tennant to Tony Curran it seems that being in Doctor Who is a fast track ticket to then appearing alongside The Avengers.

Some of the films on this list have been and gone with others still yet to be released with fans only being given the smallest hints towards who their favourite Doctor Who star is going to be playing next. With that in mind let’s take a look at 10 Doctor Who actors who were in a Marvel Studios property.

10. Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield has become one of Hollywood's most underrated talents in recent years. He's always going to be best known for following on from Tobey Maguire in the role of Spider-Man but the British actor has also starred in a number of big box office movies including The Social Network and Hacksaw Ridge. Before all of that, Garfield made two appearances in Doctor Who alongside, David Tennant.

Three years before he appeared in David Fincher's The Social Network, Garfield appeared in the two-part story, Daleks In Manhattan and Evolution Of The Daleks. In the series, Garfield played the character of Frank, a young man who lived in New York City, Hooverville, in the 1930s during the Great Depression, who joins Mr Diagoras, a wealthy businessman looking for workers alongside The Doctor and Martha.

During press from his debut as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man, Garfield spoke about his time on the show.

"I just remember David Tennant being a genius. And it was just really great fun to just be shooting in wales with all those fantastic people. Miranda Raison and the rest of that cast were just a fantastic group of people. And now my buddy, Matt Smith is playing The Doctor. We did one of our first plays together in London.
