10 Epic Movie Moments Still To Come In 2015

The Old New Hope.

2015 might now be running on fumes, but there are still some incredibly exciting films to come before it rolls over into 2016. The start of Oscar season means we can expect IMPORTANT performances, and Christmas means a couple of summer-sized blockbusters to feed the family's need for a distraction from killing each other. Added to that there's the small matter of the Force reawakening, Leonardo DiCaprio's latest attempt to break his Academy duck and a surf heist movie that seems to have wandered into the wrong release window entirely. The long and short of it is that there's no reason to start looking to the embarrassment of cinematic riches coming in 2016 just yet...

10. Luke's Grand Entrance - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Not least because it stops all of the fans either crying in outrage or spewing out outrageous theories over what might have happened to him. It's best just to accept that we're all feeling as anxious, excited and nervous about the prospect of Luke Skywalker's role in The Force Awakens because we're being told to. The marketing campaign - which has released too much footage otherwise - has been carefully constructed so you notice the missing jigsaw pieces most. Where's Luke? What do Snoke and Maz Kanata look like? Why is everyone crying? And in Luke's mystery lies the greatest magic: whether you care to admit it, there's equally as much possibility that he has turned to the Dark Side, or that he has become some nomadic Obi-Wan stand-in, or that's he's gone entirely space mental like Yoda. And as Disney are clearly all too aware, pretty much any of those reveals would be worth the wait to. Less Exciting: The awful, nagging suspicion that JJ Abrams might have gone too fanboy.
