10 Fanboy Movies That Will Make 2015 Cinema's Geekiest Year

9. Ridley Scott Takes Us To Paradise

Prometheus - Michael Fassbender Ridley Scott's Alien "prequel" Prometheus did rub a lot of people up the wrong way in failing to really answer the questions it seemed to move towards at the outset, but it was still a visually lavish, entrancing sci-fi odyssey, topped by a fantastic performance from Michael Fassbender as David, the curious android who creates a huge mess for the humans aboard the mission. The sequel, which Ridley Scott teased would be called Paradise, would presumably see David and Elizabeth (Noomi Rapace) venturing to the Engineer's homeworld in order to find out why the Engineers want the humans dead. If Paradise decides to distance itself a little from the Alien franchise and tell its own story, then this could be a hugely entertaining, original sci-fi that still has the Alien DNA, but doesn't bring with it the colossal expectations that caused many to be disappointed with Prometheus. As long as Fassbender returns - whether that's as a robotic head or with a new body - consider me game.
