Remember those heady days of 2004 when people used actual cameras to take photographs instead of snapping selfies on their smartphones?

Shutter is a product of that time, a creepy Thai horror about a photographer and his girlfriend who discover bizarre phenomena in their pictures after fleeing from the scene of an accident.

A long-haired spectral entity in the vein of Sadako begin bumping off their friends when things escalate, but what could have been a bog-standard ghost story is saved by a late twist which leaves the viewer unsure of who to root for.

Like most Asian horrors which catch on globally, Shutter spawned a critically-panned yet commercially successful Hollywood remake, in 2008.
