7. Baise Moi (2000)
Baise Moi is the story of Nadine and Manu, two young women who are marginalised from French society. Manu is gang-raped and shoots her tormentor. Nadine has an argument with her flat mate and strangles her. The two women are drifting about and come together over a shared bond of anger at the rest of the world. The two girls go on a violent spree all over France but eventually their sins find them out. Probably banned due to its graphic unsimulated depiction of rape and other acts of sexual violence, Baise-moi was banned by the Irish Censors but shown in private art house clubs. As far as I know, the ban still holds to this day.
