I do not want to make brash accusations that the MPAA is a crooked organization but well, they consistently make questionable decisions. A really entertaining documentary you should check out on for more enlightening information on the subject is “This Film Is Not Yet Rated”. Multiple celebratory figures make insightful statements including South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
Whether you have seen it or not is irrelevant to the forthcoming list but I recommend doing so if you enjoy this article. We don’t know much about the MPAA or its committee aside from common traits we have picked up on and acknowledged from our film watching experiences. Minimal usages of f*** are allowed, nudity should be kept to a minimum, violence cannot get to graphic, etc.
What happens when multiple rating certifications start contradicting each other from film to film though? Is the system in place even logical? Are double standards present for bigger budgeted films against independent offerings?
This list of 10 films will explore all of the above and more…
