10 Great (But Unexpected) Uses Of Music In Movies

8. Golden Brown (Snatch)

In Snatch, the first fight scene involving unlicensed boxer Gorgeous George (Adam Fogerty) and Mickey "One Punch" O'Neil (Brad Pitt) begins with O'Neil taking a relentless beating, but continually getting back up from it (despite George's advice to stay down) seemingly unaffected. George finds the whole situation "sick" and attempts to walk away, but O'Neil declares that he isn't leaving until the job is done and proceeds to knock him out cold in one punch (hence his name). As George lies unconscious with his eyes open, facing the ceiling, Golden Brown by The Stranglers begins to play and, for no particular reason, seems to suit the situation beautifully. Brilliant work from Guy Ritchie, back in the days when he could actually direct.
