10 Greatest British Themed Romance Films

I decided to draw up a list of my top 10 Great British Romance films and after some debate, I chose the films that I thought were British in style, humour and charm that makes you instantly think of England, as well as the feeling of falling in love. Everyone has their own opinion on what romance is, but the general idea of a romance is boy meets girl, something comes between them and they have to decide if they can be together or just forget and when they can't, beautiful love stories are imagined.

10. The Importance of Being Earnest (2002)

A remake of the 1952 original film which was adapted from the Oscar Wilde play 'The Importance of being Ernest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People' is a period drama romantic comedy starring Colin Firth as Jack Worthing, Reese Witherspoon as Cecily Cardew and Rupert Everett as Algy Moncrieff. The story takes place in 19th century London, where the two friends Jack and Algy both use the pseudo name Ernest when conducting business or taking trips secretly and their lies become entwined, with hilarious results.
