10 Greatest Bromances In The History Of Cinema

5. Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid - Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid

Rocky Apollo

Undisputedly the greatest buddy movie of all time, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid also gives us one of the earliest examples of action movie bromances. It asks the question, "What would you do for your friend?" while simultaneously reminding you that no matter what your answer to that question may be, you're still a much worse friend than either of the main protagonists.

Unlike the majority of other examples in this list, there are real life-and-death stakes peppered throughout the film. And yet, these incredibly dangerous scenarios are never enough to dampen their joviality. Because why let a little gunfight get in the way of a good ribbing?

They have an easy rapport that really warms the soul and makes you sad that there aren't too many Butches and Sundances that exist in everyday life.

When many real-life friendships are completely devastated by missed birthdays and dissenting opinions about whether Breaking Bad or The Wire is the better TV series, it's refreshing to watch this outlaw duo draw even closer once the heat gets turned up on them.
