10 Greatest Ever Minimalist Movie Posters

10. No Country for Old Men

No Country for Old Men PosterDean Walton Limited's superb poster encompasses everything key to the Coen Brothers' Oscar-winning thriller. Firstly, there's the silhouette of Javier Bardem's Anton Chigurh, carrying the cattle gun that he uses so mercilessly throughout the film, and yet there is no need to reveal his face because, of course, we all know what Chigurh looks like. Instead, the shadow of his body forms the beautifully bleak image of the Mexico-Texas border, with protagonist Llewellyn Moss (Josh Brolin) standing in the middle, from a scene near the start of the movie. Even without the identifying text at the bottom, any film fan worth their salt would know which film this was from, and that's what so great about it. Walton recognises the film's most memorable images, and then smatters them together for maximum punchiness.
