10 Most Hilarious Mark Kermode Rants

9. Bride Wars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao5fW6VUYxo 'Every now and then you have to make a stand and this is it' argues Kermode, who pledges before the review that if Bride Wars - released in January 2009 - isn't in his top ten worst films of the year he will resign. Let the reasoning begin. On the notion that it is a chick-flick, Kermode suggests that grinding the film up and serving it to battery hens would be better than running it through a projector. He then turns on Kate Hudson, stating that 'in physical terms she is even less existent than in intellectual.' Thanks to the BBC's webcams, the joyous sight of Kermode's flappy hands are again on full display here as he romps through the absurdities of the film's plot and performances, including an impression of Kate Hudson that host Simon Mayo compares to a gay New Yorker. The award however, goes to his version of Anne Hathaway's 'all eyebrows and teeth performance' - a Kermode classic that would have been sadly lost to time without those glorious webcams.

I have one golden rule: There is no such thing as a guilty pleasure. Any song or film that makes you feel good doesn't need justifying.
