10 Horror Film Remakes You Didn't Know Were In The Works

10. The Creature From The Black Lagoon

The most recently announced remake on our slate is the classic Universal monster feature The Creature From The Black Lagoon. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 writer Jeff Pinkner has reportedly been hired by Universal to pen the script, with Avengers star Scarlett Johansson in talks to take the lead (no, not the monster, the other lead). All going well, it should slot into Universal's grand shared universe scheme. Just don't tell them that Monsters Vs Aliens already did it first... The original film's story, if you're not familiar (it's been around since 1954! What kept you) saw researchers deep in the Amazon jungle stumble across the half-man, half-fish Creature that came from (spoiler) the Black Lagoon. Naturally, the creature develops a crush on one of the female members of the team, and slightly icky fish-fingered terror ensues. Presuming the remake follows the same story, most of us can relate to the monster's plight... well, don't most of us have a monster-sized crush on Scarlett Johansson?
