9. The Brain From Planet Arous (1957)

brainfromaroususe1 Infamous B-Movie actor John Agar delivers the performance of a lifetime in Brain From Planet Arous when his mind and body are taken over by Gor. Gor is a giant escaped criminal brain with the cumbersome eyes of someone who has had too much to drink, hell bent on, of course, world domination. While completely ridiculous in design, Gor and Vol (the 'cop' brain sent to apprehend Gor who takes over the body of Steve's dog, George) are identical but what is extraordinary is that makeup wizard Jack P. Pierce (Frankenstein, The Mummy and Wolfman) is responsible. The brain(s) are not a horrible design, in fact prior to Brain From Arous, you would be hard pressed to find any creature design that is of a conscious disembodied brain.
