10 Infuriating Movie Sub-Plots That Are Still Unresolved

10. Star Trek: Insurrection - What Was The Fall Out Of The Federation's Shady Deals With The Son'a?

After the success of Star Trek First Contact, the Star Trek movie franchise came up with a very different story. Less epic in tone, Star Trek Insurrection was filled with the sort of moral obligations that Captain Picard dealt with on Star Trek The Next Generation on a weekly basis. The plight of the Baku was a good romp, allowing for plenty of action and humour. While lighter in tone than its predecessor, it did introduce us to a corrupt and morally ambiguous element within Starfleet - uprooting a civilisation for their own needs. Allying with the Son€™a, an alien race that provided the drug Ketracel White to fuel the Dominion, the great enemy of the Federation, brought up many questions and unsure feelings - this was not the Starfleet audiences knew, and the rebellion of the USS Enterprise was a just cause. We all assumed the inevitable sequel would pick up on the fall out of these events, but instead audiences got nothing. No comedown on Picard and his crew for breaking Starfleet orders or the public consequences of Admiral Dougherty€™s shady dealings. Four years passed and by the time Star Trek Nemesis appeared, all had been forgotten.
