9. Darkseid Will Play A Thanos-Like Role
Fans originally assumed, quite rightly, that Darkseid would be the primary villain of Justice League, after Batman v Superman made some rather explicit hints as such.
However, now that Steppenwolf has been confirmed to be in the movie, it seems far more likely that Darkseid will in fact play a role similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thanos, sitting in the sidelines while his lackey does all the work.
Naturally, Steppenwolf will be defeated by film's end and this will likely lead to Darkseid taking the League on himself in the second Justice League movie.
The crucial difference to the Thanos situation, though, is that if that prologue sequence does indeed happen, it will give fans a strong glimpse at Darkseid's powers from the outset, rather than making them wait for years and years like the MCU has.
