Although some movies from Latin America are quite famous, most don't get the attention they deserve. Many great films were produced in countries like Mexico, Argentina and Brazil, but because of the small recognition Latin American Cinema receives, they aren't as popular or successful as they should be. Maybe you didn't know that Chile and Paraguay produced remarkable films in the last decade, maybe you never watched a Spanish-speaking movie because of the subtitles or maybe you never thought anything good would come from outside the Hollywood Industry. If that's your case, you should probably rethink all of this. Not only in Latin America, but all around the world, you'll find amazing films from the most different places that will open your eyes and mind. Latin American Cinema is still growing and still has limited resources, unfortunately. However, there are many films that overcame these challenges and that are well written, beautifully acted and directed. If you give a chance to those films you will be surprised to see how big is the world outside Hollywood, and you will have a chance to meet different cultures, histories and realities. You will not be disappointed.
