10 Ludicrous Action Scenes That Laugh In The Face Of Physics

8. Bank Vault Towed Around Rio - Fast Five

Fast Five Fast Five essentially saved the Fast and Furious franchise from extinction, taking the rather tiresome street racing series and giving it a new lease on life by way of a crime caper retooling, complete with a greater focus on more outlandish set-pieces. The culmination of all the silliness is a brilliant sequence at the end of the film, with Dom (Vin Diesel) towing a bank vault through the streets of Rio, using it to pancake any cop cars and bad guys that happen to get in the way. The sheer scale and versatility of the destruction hand is really what clinches it; the carnage has absolutely no rooting in physical reality, but it's so fun - not dissimilar to how you might have played with toy cars as a kid - you're unlikely to give a damn. Cars fly through the air like missiles, and the vault sails around like it's a paper weight.
