10. Jim Carrey - Man On The Moon

Directed by Milos Forman, "Man on the Moon" tells the story of the late Andy Kaufman, who, in his time, was one of the most eccentric and even controversial of comedians. Kaufman specialized in a little-seen form of performance comedy, which consisted of grandiose schemes, multiple impressions, and even a bout of professional wrestling. And his personality is brought to full form by Jim Carrey, in one of his greatest performances to date.

From the voice, to the wacky impressions, to an overall sense of weirdness; Carrey was the complete embodiment of Andy Kaufman. Maybe even too much so. Perhaps in the same way that Kaufman may have bothered people that he worked with, Carrey also annoyed his co-stars during filming.

He was so committed to the role that he wouldn't even break character between takes, preferring to remain as Andy Kaufman for the length of the film. After some acclaim and even a Golden Globe win for the role, though, I doubt that Carrey cares too much about the annoyance.
