10 Mild-Mannered Movie Characters Who Suddenly Went Badass

Hot Fuzz Cover Usually, it's pretty easy to spot the badass in a film. They tend to be the ones who look like they could whip you seven days a week with barely a cocked eyebrow, built like a brick outhouse and carrying enough heavy ordnance to level a small country. We know who's going to bail out our group of heroes when the going gets tough €“ it's obviously that guy. Yet occasionally, we find our expectations gazumped, and a less obvious candidate comes to the fore. Whether pushed by circumstances, boredom or if they've just levelled up a bit since we last saw them, these one-time weaklings pull out all the stops, destroying everything in a blanket of rage until all that's left are corpses and confusion. And clearly, it knocks us as an audience €“ we didn't expect it, yet it happened anyway, and you've just got to pull your jaw back up off the floor. Occasionally, these transformations make no sense and sometimes they do, but there's always something they've got in common €“ they tend to be awesome, and you're always entertained by them. So without further ado, I'm going to run through a list of movie characters who boarded the train to badass town and came back with some trophy skills. Be aware, I'm dropping the SPOILER WARNING now. You've been warned.
