Just because they're the bad guys doesn't mean they're bad...guys, y'know?

The villains in movies are often presented as pure, unadulterated evildoers who don't have a decent bone in their bodies; they'd kill a puppy to gain even a slight advantage and would ditch their so-called allies at the drop of a hat if it meant obtaining more power. That said, not all villains are all bad. Some of even the most powerful movie villains have shown that they have a conscience, are capable of remorse and generally aren't as nasty as you might think. This seems to be a particularly prominent feature of comic book movie villains and, more specifically, those in Marvel movies. After having been introduced as major threats whose sole purpose is to cause havoc for the more heroic characters, these big-bads often redeem themselves or at least provide hope that they could be open to redemption.
