9. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (2004)
Surprisingly, Life Aquatic, Wes Anderson’s fourth feature film, is his only film that has yet to be announced for Blu-ray. While Life Aquatic is arguably Anderson’s weakest effort (it has earned Anderson his first and only “rotten” rating at Rotten Tomatoes, sitting at a measly 53%), the film is still a blast to watch, and Bill Murray delivers one of the best performances of his career. The thought of watching the Jaguar Shark in high definition sends dynamite down my spine.

Nausicaa is another Miyazaki film that’s out on blu ray as well as Ponyo. However, I agree that there should be some sort of Studio Ghibli blu ray boxset released. Looking at the Japanese branch of Amazon, it seems a few have been or will be released this year in Japan so there is hope that we’ll get a release in the US or UK. Japanese releases appear to have English audio and subs but don’t quote me on that. Also it’s Region A obviously.
