2. Bruce Nolan vs. Evan Baxter (Bruce Almighty)

Back in 2003, Jim Carrey was on top of the world with this Godly feature, back when comedians like Carrey, Mike Meyers and Eddie Murphy were sure-fire box office draws. Bruce Almighty was hugely successful with the question on everyone€™s mind, at least that€™s according to the trailer, being €œWhat would you do if you had the powers of God?€ Exploit it you say? Yeah Bruce Nolan exploits it. He learns his lesson by the end but he has to get there by treating people unfairly, particularly to one Evan Baxter played by some guy named Steve Carell who was on something called The Daily Show. The scene in question is obviously a breakout moment for Carell where he gets to completely lose his mind on national television, the payoff being several hilarious minutes of him babbling like a buffoon. But has no one ever stopped to think what must have been going through his mind during that whole experience? Did he think he was being possessed or having a stroke? How can you fight with the powers of God? Especially when you€™re not even aware of them? Granted the original version of this scene is so much more horribly f**ked up, we should be grateful for Evan Baxter that he didn€™t end up having a Scanners-esque head explosion by the end of Bruce€™s punishing. No seriously, watch this deleted scene. It€™s so disturbing when you think about how ready Bruce Nolan was to literally mind-crush his slightly irritating rival...
