10 Most Cringeworthy Onscreen Kisses In The History Of Movies

Movie magic is a wonderful thing. It can make everyday things seem completely engrossing and can transform awesome things into things so unbelievably cool that you can barely stand it. That goes double for the sexy stuff, by the way. No movie kiss is just a kiss. They're all life-changing moments saturated in passion and soundtracked by the greatest musicians in the world.

There have been an abundance of legendary romances captured on celluloid over the years, complete with mind-blowing make-out sessions.

But that's not what we're here to talk about.

No, we're going to look at the exact opposite of those super romantic Lady and the Tramp moments. We're going to stare into the abyss of terrible onscreen snogging as lips smack things they shouldn't, tongues dart in directions not previously considered physically possible, and teeth...well, suffice it to say there are simply too many teeth involved.

Because not all actors are capable of performing a passionate kiss when the cameras are rolling. In fact, it's entirely possible that some of them believe "kissing" is that thing a blender does when it turns fruit into a smoothie.

Now, for the sake of keeping this thing from getting too icky, we're leaving out any comedies that went for belly laughs and any horror movies that went for belly churns. For instance, Sir Ben Kingsley and Mary-Kate Olsen - who you may remember as adorable tot Michelle Tanner on Full House - got hot and heavy in a phone booth for coming-of-age tale The Wackness.

But the kiss between 11-year-old Kirsten Dunst and 30-year-old Brad Pitt retains a special place in the Hall of Gross Hollywood Occurrences.

Interview With The Vampire had the unenviable job of portraying a love story between two vampires, one of whom is a grown woman trapped in a little girl's body.

Even though the actual smooch is close-lipped and lasts for just a second, the notion that a bunch of union workers were all gathered around the set while a preteen girl initiated lip contact with a worldwide sex symbol is a bit much to accept.

Making the press rounds before the film's release, Dunst said the scene was the hardest part of filming and that "it was horrible and I hated it!" Even in recent years she's said the kiss was "disgusting" - namely because, once again, she was 11-years-old at the time - and it's hard not to feel the same about it.
