10 Most Horrible James Bond Henchman Deaths

Zao needed a do-over on that face anyway.

After a routinely unsuccessful scuffle with 007, the Korean killer ends up with shiny diamonds embedded in his face. Diamonds, as James Bond fans surely know, are forever, so this results in a permanent disfigurement for Zao.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Bond later interrupts Zao’s gene therapy treatment for the altering of his appearance - leading to a half-completed albino complexion, along with the fateful diamonds remaining where they are.

A rightly furious Zao spends the duration of his (short) life trying to get back at Bond for these repeated transgressions. Tracking 007’s invisible (!) car via thermal vision, Zao gives chase through boss Graves’ Ice Palace - perhaps to demand recompense for Bond’s ruin of his surgery.

Bond does not oblige, however, shooting an ice chandelier and causing it to fall directly onto a screaming Zao. A bloody mess is the result. As a silver lining, the diamonds probably remain unharmed.

Poor old Zao just couldn’t catch a break - as if appearing in Die Another Day wasn't horrible enough.
